* 2000 ALL STAR FOOTBALL GAME *

The Silicon Valley Youth Classic web page is up and running and is located at: http://www.youthclassic.org.

The game is over. The final score was 16-8 in favor of the South. And fun was had by everyone.

I have split this page into three parts and it may take a little time to load. The first part consists of a couple of pictures of the coaches luncheon on Friday before the game. The second part is the tailgate function before the game. And the third part are the game activities (as well as the cheerleaders) which is also located in www.youthclassic.org under Game Highlights.

LUNCHEON Wedemeyer

Charlie and Lucy Wedemeyer were at our Friday's meeting before the game to promote the game and receive a check from the club for the Wedemeyer Foundation. Charlie apologized for not attending the All-Star Game Banquet but thanked the club for the great honor of associating his name with the game.

Kiesle Weinbrock Matt Kiesle from Piedmont Hills High School (South coach) and Matt Weinbrock from St. Lawrence Academy (North coach) spoke about their players and their experiences. The North has the size advantage (offensive line averages 6'3" and over 300 lb.) while the South excels with speed. Both coaches agreed that it should be a great game.

TAILGATE
The tailgate occurred between 5:00 and 7:00 pm before the 7:30 pm game. Those that attended the tailgate which included Rotarians, guests, sponsors, and coaches enjoyed chicken, hot dogs, salad, cookies and refreshments.
